Early years
Early years department (KS1) includes three levels including reception, year 1 and year 2 (Age 3+). The Cambridge Early Years curriculum:
- follows a holistic approach that focuses on the whole child and connects their development with the world and people around them.
- is built around four key areas of early childhood development: Physical development, language and communication development, cognitive development and social and emotional development.

Students at this age don’t sit for exams instead their skills are assessed in the different subjects.
Key for assessment at the end of the EYFS term:
E= Excellent G= Good NI= Needs Improving SR= Support Required
Subjects taught for reception
English reading, Exploring Media and Technology (ICT), Math, Understanding the World through Additional Languages (Arabic and French), Exploring the World (Foundation science), English phonics, Auditory Arts (Music), Theatrical Arts (Drama), Imagination and craft (Art) and craft, Gross Motor Skills (Physical education) and PSED (Personal, social, emotional development).
At this age students will have morning and afternoon snacks along with outdoors activities during their schedule.

Exploring the World (Science), English, Math, Understanding the World through Additional Languages (Arabic and French), Gross Motor Skills (Physical education), English, Auditory Arts (Music), Imagination and craft (Art), Theatrical Arts (Drama), Computing, Global perspectives and PSED.
At this age students will have morning and afternoon snacks along with outdoors activities during their schedule.

At this level students will have quiet reading sessions before the start of their sessions.
