All of them are inspected by Cambridge English and meet our high standards. Checkpoint Exams are only for students actively enrolled in the Oxford International School and private clients for IGCSEs or Advanced Levels are offered on a case-by-case basis.

The Cambridge Pathway at Oxford International School

At Oxford International School of Tunis, our academic structure is aligned with the Cambridge Pathway, an internationally recognized framework that supports students from early learning through to university preparation. The pathway is designed to build knowledge, skills, and confidence progressively at each stage:

  • Early Years (KS1): Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 – focused on developing foundational skills through play-based and inquiry-driven learning.

  • Primary (KS2): Years 3 to 6 – strengthening literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking while encouraging curiosity and independence.
  • Lower Secondary (KS3): Years 7, 8, and 9 – providing a broad and balanced curriculum to prepare students for more advanced study.
  • Upper Secondary (KS4 and KS5): Years 10 to 13 – preparing students for international qualifications such as IGCSEs and A Levels, equipping them for university and future careers.

School language policy (Check appendix)

Since we follow the Cambridge Curriculum, which is delivered entirely in English, all subjects are taught in English, with the exception of Arabic and French, which are taught in their respective languages.

Students are expected to communicate in English throughout the school day—in the classroom, during activities, and across the campus—to help strengthen their language skills and support a consistent English-speaking environment. This immersion approach plays a key role in academic success and prepares students for international qualifications and global opportunities.

Commitment to academic and personal development (Check appendix)

  • We believe that high-quality education begins with highly skilled and continually evolving educators. Our teachers are committed to lifelong learning and are actively engaged in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in international education.

    This commitment includes participating in:

    • Webinars and educational workshops
    • Cambridge training programs and certified online courses
    • In-house professional learning communities
    • Collaborative planning and peer observation sessions

By consistently enhancing their knowledge and skills, our teachers ensure that they are well- equipped to deliver engaging, effective, and student-centered learning experiences aligned with the Cambridge curriculum. Their dedication to personal and professional growth directly benefits our students and strengthens the overall academic environment at OIST.
