At OIST, every parent  is automatically a member of the Parent Organization and can attend its meetings. The Parent Organization makes its decisions democratically, and it encourages active participation by all members.

As an organization, the Parent Organization’s purpose is to:

• Build a welcoming, inclusive school community that builds bridges between cultures;
• Support the school’s goals and mission
• Facilitate and enhance communication between parents, teachers, and the school.

The Parent Organization encourages every parent to participate as a volunteer to help with activities and be a part of the school community.
